Psychic And Spirit Phenomena in the Bible

Is there evidence of psychic and spirit phenomena in the Bible?

Dear Michelle,

The Bible contains a great deal of narrative relating to psychic phenomena. The late medium, Arthur Ford noted in an interview in 1968 that all the psychic can teach you is found in I Corinthians, Chapters 12 through 15. (Note, especially, I Corinthians 12:4-11. Here you find the spiritual gifts; and what are they but psychic gifts?)

You can find evidence of virtually all spirit related phenomena in the Bible. These include precognition, trance, spiritual healing, clairaudience, clairvoyance, direct voice, mediumship, materialization, dream interpretation, apparitions, visions, levitation, angels, psychometry, psychokinesis,

Hal Banks in his book, An Introduction to Psychic Studies (1986)
gives us some examples:

(1) "As he was speaking to me, I fell into a deep sleep with my face to the ground..." (Daniel 8:18) TRANCE.
(2) "...The men who were traveling with him stood speechless, hearing the voice but seeing no one..." (Acts 9:7) CLAIRA UDIENCE.
(3) "...And in the fourth watch of the night he came to them walking on the sea..." (Matthew 14:25). LEVITATION.
(4) "And Moses turned, and went down from the mountain with the two tables of the testimony in his hands, tables that were written on both sides; on the one side and on the other they were written. And the tables we're the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God, graven upon the tablets. (Exodus 32:15-16) AUTOMATIC WRITING.
(5) "...And the angel of the Lord appeared to the woman.. (Judges 13:3). MATERIALIZATION. Read, also, Matthew 17:1-9 - the Transfiguration. Additional evidence supporting materialization.
(6) "...And 1, Daniel, alone saw the vision..." (Daniel 10:7) CLAIRVOYANCE.
(7) Study the whole of I Samuel, Chapter 28. This is the remarkable and famous incident of the Woman of Endor. It is a vivid example of sublime mediumship. Study the passage thoroughly. (8) "...and he lay down and slept under a broom tree; and behold, an angel touched him, and said to him 'arise and eat.' And he looked, and behold, there was at his head a cake baked on hot stones and a jar of water..." (I Kings 19:5-6). APPORT.
(9) "Now he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath. And there was a woman who had had a spirit of infirmity for eighteen years; She was bent over and could not fully straighten herself. And when Jesus saw her he said to her, 'woman, you are freed from your infirmity.' And he laid his hands upon her, and immediately she was made straight, and she praised God..." (Luke 13:10-13). HEALING.
